The Smoking Bells – “Sleeptalk” [Exclusive Album Stream Premiere]
Today we’re stoked to share this exclusive stream of the album Sleeptalk from Toronto, Canada’s own rockers, The Smoking Bells.
The Skinny: By now you know we always try to hook up both rad premieres and new music. Well, today we’re doing both with this exclusive stream of the album Sleeptalk from Toronto, Canada’s own rockers, The Smoking Bells. The fast-rising trio lace their music with groove and off-kilter pop resulting in a, dare we say it, very unique. Seriously, Sleeptalk boasts very diverse music thanks to both talented and broadly musically-influenced musicians.
Said the band about their debut offering: “This is our debut record, so we figured we should just check off ‘concept album’ on our to-do list right away. We just wanted to create an entire mood where you could listen to Side A, then Side B, and go, yeah, that’s a whole story from start to finish. We’ve always been intrigued because dreams are so familiar to us, yet are still completely unknown in terms of origin or meaning. Are they completely random or are there fragments of meaning underlying them? We don’t know, but we figured we’d make a record that asks some of these questions.”
