KVELERTAK Stream New Single “1985” [Canadian Premiere]
Six-piece Norwegian carnage-inducers, Kvelertak, have returned with their first new music since 2013’s Meir. Stream new song “1985” off their forthcoming Roadrunner Records release, Nattesferd.
The Skinny: While you might have to wait a couple more months for the entire album, the six-piece Norwegian carnage-inducers, Kvelertak, have returned with their first new music since 2013’s Meir. Simply titled “1985,” the band have just released the first single off their forthcoming Roadrunner Records release, Nattesferd, due out May 13th, 2016. So, while you wait for pre-orders to become available on April 8th, fire up this bad boy and prepare to Instagram your incredulous facial expressions after “1985” leaves you sitting, mouth agape, wondering how you’ve ever lived without this song!
Frontman Erlend Hjelvik commented on the Nattesferd by saying: “We are finally getting ready to release our third album Nattesferd on the world and however cliché it may sound, I’m not afraid to say that this is our best one yet! An exquisite smorgasbord of riffs infused with everything between the best of classic rock and heavy metal. I’m certain it will blow the minds of both old and new fans. Enjoy!”
Nattesferd was recorded live at Amper Tone Studio in Oslo, Norway (their first recorded in their homeland) and was produced by the band and mixed/engineered by Nick Terry (Lindstrøm, Turbonegro, The Libertines). If new music isn’t exciting enough, the Kvelertak have also announced a Spring 2016 North American headlining tour with special guests Torche and label mates Wild Throne. The dates kick-off April 12th at Portland, Maine’s Port City Music Hall and will see the band traversing west through early May. Tickets for all dates are currently on sale.
