Grimner – “Midgård Brinner” [Exclusive Song Stream Premiere]
With their sophomore effort, Frost Mot Eld, due on March 26, 2016 via Despotz Records (pre-order here), we’re thrilled to premiere “Midgård Brinner”, the new single from Motala, Sweden’s folk/Viking metal sextet, Grimner.
The Skinny: Founded in 2008, Motala, Sweden’s Grimner are a totally awesome folk/Viking metal sextet whose music is always great, but best experienced live. Their sophomore effort, Frost Mot Eld, is due out on March 26, 2016 via Despotz Records (pre-order here) and today we’re thrilled to premiere the band’s new song “Midgård Brinner”.
Said the group of the second single from their forthcoming release: “Brothers and Sisters! It is time to release the second single ‘Midgård Brinner’ from our upcoming album Frost Mot Eld! The song tells about when the sons of Oden and Surt meet on mortal ground in the land of men, as human homes are scorched by the fire of Muspelheim. With a steady drum beat, catchy melody and a mixture of vocal types, we hope you enjoy this track. The artwork made by Jan Yrlund (Darkgrove) depictures the burned grounds that the sons of Surt leave behind.”
For those that prefer, you can also find Grimner’s “Midgård Brinner” single on Spotify.
