The Skinny: The Rift – the Los Angeles trio who fuse alternative heavy rock, with elements of blues, punk and metal – have premiered their song “Deliverance” online. The song, which serves up a powerful message with a hyper charged riff, is the first single on their full-length debut album Inventions, set for release March 4, 2016 through iTunes and all digital retailers.
“We were inspired to write ‘Deliverance’ after the riots in Ferguson, MO and the Eric Garner case,” frontman Aris Anagnos tells PureVolume.com of the track. “We wanted to write a song that combined the feeling of systemic protest for civil rights and black lives matter with our own personal struggles. We also wanted the song to be optimistic so while it covers the idea that things beyond our control can hurt us, they can’t take away from you your own deliverance if you hang on to dreams and love.”
