The Skinny: NYC’s Skaters are set to kick off 2016 with a bang. Today, the band shares new single “Head On To Nowhere” in an in-depth interview since departing Warner Brothers with Consequence Of Sound.
Speaking candidly with CoS, Skaters frontman Michael Ian Cummings talks about leaving the major label behind (“We got thrown against the wall and we didn’t stick.”), the band’s decision to go DIY (“There was a true sense of freedom knowing that the record couldn’t be rejected”) and it’s newfound creative output, emerging from the studio with 60+ new tracks (“This is the part of being in a band I like the most. Making music is actually the gratifying part the rest is just circus. The circus can be fun, but I don’t want to live there.”)
Check out the band’s latest single “Head On To Nowhere” just above. Highlighted by fuzzed out guitar-riffs, the track builds to an energetic, anthemic peak – the track is out tomorrow on all DSPs.
