Petoskey, Michigan is home to the well-known post-hardcore band Famous Last Words who, on August 25th 2014, released their most recent full-length album, Council Of The Dead via InVogue Records. The release hit #91 on the Top 200 and #18 on Independent Albums on Billboard’s charts and the band had a successful 2015 supporting their new songs. Recently split with InVogue Records, the guys are working on their third concept album. In the interim, check out what they’ve listed as their top 5 albums of 2015!
05. State Champs – “Around The World and Back”
The Skinny: This band has completely stole my heart. I love this albums upbeat tempo, great vocal work, and driving bass. New pop punk at its finest.
04. August Burns Red – “Found In Far Away Places”
The Skinny: I love this album, it’s ridiculous how they worked in all these different styles of playing but none of it seemed forced. It’s just kind of amazing.
03. Stick to Your Guns – “Disobedient”
The Skinny: This album just makes you feel something. It’s heavy, and it sounds like it should really be depressing and hateful. But it’s overall just a really positive message through most of it. I love that contrast.
02. Falling in Reverse – “Just Like You”
The Skinny: I didn’t want to like this album. I really didn’t. But it’s good, in fact, it’s kind of amazing. Just Like You has some of the catchiest hooks I think I’ve heard all year.
01. Bring Me The Horizon – “That’s The Spirit”
The Skinny: BMTH single-handedly re-invented what this whole metal core/post-hardcore/whatever-core genre could be. It’s insane how they have come from just dirty thrash metal to being one of the biggest bands in the world.
