Tattoo Talk: Cambion Frontman Elliott Alderman-Broom Discusses Some of His Ink Including His Extensive Sleeves
Recently, we chatted about tattoos with Elliott Alderman-Broom, frontman for the technical/progressive metal band Cambion. Check out what he had to say!

Since forming in 2009, technical/progressive metal band Cambion have been steadily making a name for themselves in the world of heavy music. With a recently reissued EP, Virus, and several music videos thereafter, the group continue to bolster their fan-base through hard work and unavoidable metal. Recently, we chatted about tattoos with frontman Elliott Alderman-Broom, check out what he had to say.
When, where and what was your first tattoo?
Alderman-Broom: My first tattoo was actually on a family holiday to Thailand. I was actually only 14 years old, but had wanted one for so long, and knowing the rules on age are different in Thailand, I took full advantage and got a small tribal piece on my arm.
Do any of your tattoos have a particularly special meaning behind them? If so, do share man!
Alderman-Broom: Not really, some have more meaning than others, but it’s more that they bring back memories from around the time of me getting them done.
Do you have a specific shop or artist that you frequent (insert shameless plug time!)?
Alderman-Broom: I haven’t actually had a tattoo done in quite awhile, so not really, but I’m definitely due some more, so we shall see.
Do you have any new tattoos planned or underway? Give us the dirt, dude!
Alderman-Broom: I’m planning a sort of “stone angels vs demons” piece for my leg at the moment, but I really want to finish my arms fully before I get too carried away with that!
Have you seen any fans with a band tattoo, anything crazy memorable?
Alderman-Broom: Not a fan yet of ours, but way back in the beginning years of Cambion, at around 15/16 yrs old, our guitarist at the time, Luke, decided he wanted a back tattoo so he had a big Cambion piece done… a few weeks later he left the band!
Do you have any tattoos that you now hate, want to replace, or have covered up, and why?
Alderman-Broom: I have a half sleeve, which was done a few years ago now, well for my 18th, by an artist and studio owner local to me. He was fantastic but sadly he was killed in a motorbike accident, so obviously, it wasn’t finished. 🙁 Although it’s kinda sad, I want to cover it up and have something else incorporated into it, to change it into something new, it doesn’t feel right to have someone else finish what he started.
Have any tattoos that were painful. Like made you cry, see white light, and regret being born?
Alderman-Broom: Ha ha, I haven’t had any that made my life flash before my eyes! But I had a cross done on the back of my left leg, that hurt like hell! That’s probably the only one that made me squirm a little!
If you HAD to get someone’s face tattooed on you, who’s would it be and why?
Alderman-Broom: Well, I do actually have my own face tattooed on my upper arm. Ha ha! It’s not as vane as it sounds, it was part of the design for the bio mech stuff, a kind of weird, messed up, trapped inside the machine vibe.
