Scotland is an angry country full of angry people doing angry things. Okay, so maybe that statement has absolutely zero merit whatsoever, but it was the best way to introduce the independent, Glasgow-based band, Northern Nightlights, who play, as they put it, “angry as fuck” pop punk.

The quintet – Robert Stewart (bass), Andrew Malcolmson (vocals/guitar), Paul McCafferty (vocals), Andrew Irvine (guitar), and Samuel Davies (drums) – came together in the Fall of 2013 and have been on a tear ever since. In their short existence, they’ve managed to release and EP, 3 singles, and have also been showcased on several compilations. With a new EP in coming soon, we’re stoked to help the band share their single “Where’s The Slam Tent, Mate?”.

Born in 2003, V13 was a socio-political website that, in 2005, morphed into PureGrainAudio and spent 15 years developing into one of Canada's (and the world’s) leading music sites. On the eve of the site’s 15th anniversary, a full re-launch and rebrand takes us back to our roots and opens the door to a full suite of Music, Film, TV, and Cultural content.
