The Skinny: With their new EP Saudade a month away from release, Boston Manor are streaming another new track, in the form of “Shade”. Already a live favourite, the song sees the band delve further into their emotive side than ever before, combining their explosive punk rock sensibilities with something altogether more sensitive and nuanced, exploring light and, indeed, shade.

Saudade will be Boston Manor’s first release for renowned U.S. indie label Pure Noise and is set for release on 20th November. Explaining the sentiment behind the EP, vocalist Henry Cox muses, “Saudade is a profound melancholy and longing for something or someone. Sometimes for something that you’ve never experienced or possessed. It carries the knowledge that person or thing for which you are longing may never return.”

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
