The Sheepdogs latest offering Future Nostalgia, set for release on October 2 through Warner Music see the band embrace their vintage sound with a reflective undercurrent. The perfect trip to the late 1960’s early 70’s, The Sheepdogs manage to straddle the difficult line of letting the listener discover their own nostalgia while staying current.

Produced by Sheepdogs frontman Ewan Currie along with engineer Matt Ross-Spang the album delivers 18 tracks ranging from the classic rock inspired Back Down to the more warmer, fuller sounding Help Us All which features an awesome trombone solo.

One of my favorite tracks is the soulful, roots influenced Giving It Up For My Baby, it leads in gently culminating with the bands signature harmonies on the chorus. I was also really into how they bled the last few tracks into each other, creating what sounds like one big, fun jam session- I thought it was a really great way to end the album.

Honestly, I could listen to this album over and over. It’s an excellent piece of work, although I wouldn’t expect anything less from this band. I highly recommend getting yourself a copy.
