This past Wednesday September 23rd, I headed over to Boots & Bourbon for the first time to check out The Sheepdogs’ private album release party for their latest offering, Future Nostalgia, set for release on October 2nd through Warner Music.

The country themed bar filled up fast, and guests dined on complimentary deep fried pickles, fries and coleslaw while waiting for the band to take the stage.  When they did, The Sheepdogs did not disappoint.

Playing a passionate, high energy set full of their vintage sound, they commanded the intimate stage for about an hour and gave one of the best sounding live performances I’ve ever witnssed. They played fan favorites such as Who and I Don’t Know, and mixed in some new tracks including Back Down a fave of mine of their new album. They also did a wicked cover of Bob Seger‘s Rosalie

I love music, but there are only a few artists that after seeing them live remind me what it’s really all about and inspire me to continue to search for those kinds of moments-The Sheepdogs are one of them. I had such a great time and I can’t wait to catch them live again.

You can pre-order Future Nostalgia here
