Lost Atlanta – “Alive” [EP] [Album Review]
Manchester post-hardcore boys show that, while the majority of their material doesn’t really offer anything new, they do have something really special hidden away as well..

I caught these Manchester post-hardcore chaps at Butserfest recently and, if I’m being truthful, wasn’t overly impressed. It all sounded just too generic and, sadly, their second EP Alive hasn’t really done much to change that opinion. Even the appearance of former Heart In Hand frontman Charlie Holmes on “Distractions” doesn’t earn them any extra points because it’s all nothing you won’t have heard a million times before but… and it’s a massive BUT….
…The EP closes with the absolutely incredible track “These Words” – passion, emotion, feeling, heart – this song has it all and shows that this band, for all the generic post-hardcore shenanigans that the rest of this EP is full of, really have something special in their locker. I could quite happily listen to this song all day long and in fact have had it on regular rotation over the past few hours – it is that good! No disrespect to the rest of the material because, if you’re a post-hardcore fan, this will be familiar musical fodder but, a plea from this music fan, more tracks like “These Words” please!
