Mad Trapper – Dead Living [Album Review]
Mad Trapper breathe new life into the hardcore scene with their ETID inspired chaotic darkness. Read our review here.

You know how the sun is made up of a lot of tiny explosions and, when they come together, it looks like this one awesome ball of fire and energy? Mad Trapper’s new album Dead Living is a little bit like that albeit on a much smaller scale. Made up of 12 quick tracks, each its own fleeting burst of energy, the album clocks in at just over 26 minutes in length but brace yourself— this brief auditory experience is a full on assault on the senses.
Do not be fooled by the melodic opener track “Claws” either, this calm does not last long at all, and, before you know it, Dead Living grabs you by the seat of your pants and pummels you relentlessly while tracks like the thrashy ‘Rat River’ and ‘Caved In’ will have you enraged and throwing punches in no time. The groovy, black metal inspired killer called ‘Takeover’ was my personal favorite though with the deliberately enraging title track ‘Dead Living’ following suit.
Reminiscent of the raw and straightforward nature of Every Time I Die but with a previously unheard darker, dirtier twist, Mad Trapper is breathing new life in the hardcore scene with Dead Living.
