Masuda are a very new group from Annapolis, Maryland who play their own blend of progressive metalcore which sees the quartet focus on technicality, groove, and harmony. Within a very short time of forming, Austin Loos (vox), Nate Lanzino (guitar), Brandon Chang (guitar), and John Sacino (drums) put their ideas on paper, so to speak, and released their first EP, Within, on June 25, 2015.
We’re always pumped to work with talented new groups and Masuda are by no means an exception to that sentiment. In less than a year these guys have already done what many take years to accomplish. The free download of their song “Great Captain” should go a long way to winning you over, or at least, affirming our positive words about this act. Said the band of Within, “[it] is a cohesive listen of intertwining guitar lines, shifting vocal textures, and urgent rhythmic force.”
