Guards of May – “The Observer” [SoundCloud Song Stream]
To herald the release of their debut LP, Guards of May are offering a new cut from the record, titled “The Observer” – listen here!
The Skinny: Guards of May are at the forefront of the new wave of exciting, pulsing, all-encompassing Australian rock music. Their debut album Future Eyes is due for release on Friday August 14th. Guards of May are etching their mark into the proud tradition of amazing Australian Rock and Progressive music making noise all around the world. The album will be available for pre-order on iTunes from Monday June 29th.
The five-piece from Brisbane, Australia have constructed the intricate, intense, intelligent hook-laden album in Gold Coast’s Loose Stones Studios alongside Matt Bartlem and Zach Hylton. It’s been a more than a 18-month project for quintet and it began with the release of singles – Numbers, Arcadia and Annotata – all featured on the album. Along the way, they have picked up kudos and awards for their tracks, their thunderous live show and filmclips.
To herald the release of their debut LP, they are bringing an offering of a new cut from the record. “The Observer” is a track that probes the level of critical questioning that society has about the world spinning around them and whether our eyes are truly open – a brilliantly complex, massive-sounding epic.
