Get Hard stars Will Ferrell (Anchorman, Step Brothers) and Kevin Hart (Think Like A Man, Ride Along) in this buddy comedy about James King (Ferrell) preparing himself for a life behind bars (within 30 days) after being accused for fraud.

Desperate and afraid, King hires Darnell Lewis (Hart), a man he assumes has been in prison, when in fact, Lewis is a hard-working small business owner and family man who agrees to help him. Of course, Lewis doesn’t just help him because he’s a good person, but because there was an offer of $30,000 on the line, which is enough money to put a down payment on a new home for him and his family – one that is in a safer area and has a better school district for his only daughter.

Lewis must now re-enact every stereotypical portrayal of prison to King and teach him how to ‘get hard’ by handling those potential situations with hilarious comedic lessons and scenes. The entire film was non-stop laughs, whether a scene was inappropriately funny or when you just couldn’t help yourself. Quite frankly, I don’t remember a moment when I wasn’t laughing.

Typically, I am not a big fan of Ferrell’s humour in his other films, but I honestly give kudos for his performance in this film. For once, he wasn’t acting absurd or ignorant or throwing hissy fits.  But in Get Hard, it’s safe to say that with the help from Hart, they make a fantastic team and balanced each other out.

Also starring rapper Tip “T.I.” Harris, Community actress Alison Brie and veteran actor Craig T. Nelson, Get Hard is a laugh-out-loud comedy from beginning to end.

To watch more on Ferrell and Hart’s portrayal of prison school, Get Hard is available on Blu-Ray combo pack on June 30 with an unrated cut of the film not seen in theatres. The Blu-Ray also offers a wide amount of special features that include a gag reel, 25-minutes worth of deleted scenes, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at making of the film with interviews from the duo themselves, director Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder) and many more.
