New England-based, progressive metal outfit Caricature is the brainchild of multi-talented, multi-instrumentalist Joseph Spiller. The project has been making waves in the metal underground for a decade. Now it’s about to come crashing down on the global scene with the release of new single “Shadows,” which has just had its exclusive premiere online. Featuring a slinky, circuitous guest solo by Omer Avni, this epic new single (whose lyric video also just dropped today) is just a warm-up for the upcoming opus The Fiction We’ve Become.

Produced by Spiller, and featuring vocal production by Greg Macklin, engineering assistance by Evan Sammons (Last Chance to Reason), and mastering by death metal legend James Murphy (Death, Testament, Obituary), “Shadows” is a hard-hitting slice of twisty technique, machine-gun riffs and catchy vocals. To hear Spiller tell it, he wrote it specifically as a fight anthem and like any good fight anthem it is hooky as fuck. The song’s tight instrumentation is driven almost entirely by Spiller, with drums played, engineered and edited by Sammons.

On the eve of the site’s 15th anniversary, a full re-launch and rebrand takes us back to our roots and opens the door to a full suite of Music, Film, TV, and Cultural content.
