“Rrrawwwaaaarrhghghhg! Bluuuerrrrgh! Blaaarrrghhh! Speeeeewwwwww!” – yep, it’s time for a bit of Canadian goregrind courtesy of Intestinal Rot and their new collection of vomit-drenched noise. Now, if I’m being honest, while I’m all for a bit of brutality, I really can’t listen to too much of this kind of stuff these days.

Consuming Fermented Bile has all the trademarks of a good goregrind album so all you gore-fiends, perverts, deviants and general all-round sickos will have no problems with this one. Every moment of this album sounds like it was played out on instruments made of human body parts, so if you want an easy, pleasant listen then you’re very much in the wrong place. Played at breakneck speed from start to finish this mildly offensive, extremely noisy wall of grind sounds exactly how it should be played.

The problem with the underground gore-grind genre is that, unless you fully immerse yourself in this world, then you’re going to hate this. Ten years ago, I could stomach the genre but, nowadays, it’s just too much to cope with over a period of more than ten minutes. On that note instead of rating the band down for sounding like they sound, the low score is actually me for being such a fucking pussy these days!

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
