The Skinny: Byzantine is prepared to unleash its new album, To Release Is To Resolve on April 7 via CEN/RED Distribution. It’s a record that takes the progressive thrash titans monstrous sound to new heights, as proven by the ferocious track, ”The Agonies” recently premiered on SoundCloud.
Byzantine has spent the better part of its nearly 15-year existence overcoming the odds. After two years of building the bands infrastructure, Byzantine caught the attention of Chris Adler of Lamb Of God, leading to an East Coast tour together and signing to Prosthetic Records. By 2007, however, the financial hardships of the industry took their toll and led to Byzantine disbanding. ”We had no clue how to run a band like a business,” admits front-man Chris OJ Ojeda. ”But I just had this horrible feeling we were making a big life mistake by walking away. This feeling led to Byzantine reforming five years later, releasing its self-titled fourth record that garnered multiple Album of the Year awards and solidified the bands cult status amongst metal-heads.”
