The Skinny: Brightwell have announced signing to Outerloop Records with the band’s debut EP Alpha set for release on February 10th. The first single “Young Canvas” is available now, listen to the stream below.
Vocalist Nick Barham comments, “We felt that Outerloop Records was the best fit for us as a band. The relationship that we developed with the label, even before we signed, was awesome and very personal, which is something that is important to us. Their vision for our band and confidence in our future lined up perfectly with our own, and we couldn’t be happier with how things are going.”
Formed of friends after parting ways with their former bands the members of Brightwell came together despite the distance between them, collaborating remotely as vocalist Nick Barham lived in Michigan, drummer Arvin Sarathy in Illinois, and singer/bassist Tanner Manoir and guitarist Vaughn Anthony resided in Texas.
In March 2014 Arvin, Tanner, and Vaughn moved in with Nick and soon after the band entered the studio with producer Nick Scott (The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, For All I Am). “During this time, we really began to find our sound as well as mesh together our vision, which is why we chose Alpha as our title. For us it represents the beginning of Brightwell, and it’s off to a solid start.”
