The Skinny: Poised to release their third studio album, Keep You, via Epitaph Records on October 28, Baltimore, Maryland band Pianos Become The Teeth give listeners a taste of what is to come with the premiere of their track “Late Lives” – listen to it just below.

“Late Lives” is a track that marks a true turning point in the band’s approach to songwriting. The song’s cathartic, slow build sits on the shoulders of not just one lead riff, but as frontman Kyle Durfey explains, several intertwining riffs, shying away from the straightforward songs of the past. When Durfey sings, “you can’t be everything you want to before your time,” it is taken literally. “David doesn’t even hit a snare drum until two-and-a-half minutes in,” adds guitarist Mike York.
