Mayhem fest has becoming one of the premiere concert events of the season. Headlining this year has been the California-based Avenged Sevenfold. Although there were only 4 bands at this years Mayhem fest at Jones Beach, which is where I attended, the festival at various venues has seen the likes of Upon a Burning Body, Mushroomhead and even Ice-T. But the main bands, Asking Alexandia, Korn and A7X have been on the card for its entire run. Korn and AA played a massive set giving way to the fiery stage theatrics of Avenged Sevenfold who played 11 songs opening with the new “Sheppard of Fire” and closing with the older “Unholy Confessions”.
