Buckcherry – “FUCK” [EP] [Album Review]
The new Buckcherry EP is an homage to the word “fuck”, a record that uses the F-bomb more times than I care to even hear. I get that this is a band that gained a large amount of their success from other songs laced with profanity (see “Crazy Bitch”), but I honestly don’t get this EP, at all.

FUCK‘s riffs, grooves, and the overall punky vibe are fantastic, and stay true to that dirty Buckcherry sound, and I especially dig the rawness that the band seems to cultivate from release to release. What I can’t get past though, is Josh Todd’s juvenile, repetitive yelling of the word “fuck”. I am not a prude by any means, and I have been known to drop the F-bomb on a regular basis, but a full 20 minutes of it was way too much. Is it too much to ask for some half-decent lyrics to go along with the killer grooves?
I expected much more from a band of this caliber, because for me, this whole disc reeks of gimmick and shock value. I am sure throngs of fans who sang along to “Crazy Bitch” will dig this EP, but for me, I will take a pass as I just don’t see the point.
