Set and Setting – “Coping” [YouTube Song Stream]
Instrumentalists Set and Setting have unveiled the first full track, “Coping,” from their upcoming Prosthetic debut A Vivid Memory.
Instrumentalists Set and Setting – who describe their contemporary, abstract mixture of metal, psych, ambient and drone as “post-classical” – have unveiled the first full track from their upcoming Prosthetic debut A Vivid Memory. Take a listen to “Coping” in the audio stream below, which showcases the album’s cover art (featured below) created by Emily Miller!
Guitarist Shane Handal says, “‘Coping’ is from the outsider’s perspective in dealing with a loss of some sort. The start of the song is dark and aggressive, while it slowly changes into a feeling of hope and power to move on.” A Vivid Memory is scheduled for release on September 2nd, 2014.
A Vivid Memory was recorded at Pinecrust Studios in Miami and was produced, engineered and mixed by Ryan Haft (Torche, Capsule). Mastering was completed by Nick Zampiello (Pelican, ISIS, Junius) at New Alliance East. Handal commented on the album: “Although A Vivid Memory is all instrumental, it is a conceptual album based on the tragedy of loss and death from both the insider and outsider’s perspective. The themes throughout the album incorporate all cycles of emotion that typically come along with such an event in someone’s life.”
