Royal Blood – “Royal Blood” [EP] [Album Review]
With only two members, it’s quite amazing that they can pull off this thick sound, and to their credit, I think they do so in a big way.
Hailing from the UK, this hard rock duo cranks out some really, really solid, noisy rock with a strong RATM/White Stripes influence. With only two members, it’s quite amazing that they can pull off this thick sound, and to their credit, I think they do so in a big way.
Singer/bassist Mike Kerr commands his bass like a guitar, cranking out killer riffs that drive these catchy, grooving tunes. If you weren’t aware of the fact that Royal Blood is a duo, there is a good chance you might have never known; the four tunes on this EP are just as good, if not better than, most other full band-led hard rock records currently in-market.
The bluesy lead-off track, “Out Of The Black,” has just the right amount of hook, noise and groove, making it one of those songs that I just could not get out of my head. With a full-length available soon, this is a wonderful intro to a band that will likley blow up very soon!
