The band comments: “Some of the central themes of Empires deal with different aspects of human emotions such as reaching your potential in life and being the master of your own empire, as well as the observation of crumbling empires around us. Musically the record marks a shift towards a somewhat more technical execution, fluid solos while maintaining groove and hooks. We feel Tides embodies the overall feel of the record perfectly.”
