The Skinny: Boston, Massachusetts-based rock threesome, Red Oblivion, come recommended to fans of groups such The Killers, Queens of the Stone Age, Against Me!, and Nirvana. Members Zach Adams (vocals, bass), Emma Torres (guitar), and Carson Groenewold (drums), are heavy on the musical chemistry and passion, much like they’re heavy on the alternative rock. Each students at the Berklee College of Music they would come together to form Red Oblivion and begin punching out alt rock with swagger – point in case, this premiere of their song “My Friend Fear” – check it out above!
As stated in their mini biography: “In the Summer of 2013, the band returned from a stint in Las Vegas opening for Lemuria and Sick Puppies, transitioned into the three piece they are today, and recorded their forthcoming EP My Friend Fear at The Record Company in Boston, produced by Raul Chirinos. Due out September 16, 2014, My Friend Fear exhibits the band’s modern take on traditional rock ‘n roll, complete with intense raspy vocals, hard-hitting drums, thumping bass, reverberating guitars, and catchy pop sensibilities. In five songs, Red Oblivion shows that they are a sonic force to be reckoned with.”
