Countess – “Pray For The Cult” [Free Song Download]
On April 9th, 2014 Countess offered unto this world their latest recording, the 10-song metal fest known as Ancient Lies And Battle Cries; a blazing good album as evidenced by the free download of the song “Pray For The Cult”.
Influenced by black metal legends such as Bathory, Venom, and Hellhammer and more traditional heavy metal bands including Manowar and Manilla Road, the Dutch group Countess has been in existence, punching out their own deformed version of metal since 1992. On April 9th, 2014 the group offered unto this world their latest recording, the 10-song metal fest known as Ancient Lies And Battle Cries; a blazing good album as evidenced by the free download of the song “Pray For The Cult”.
While Countess will be new to many people, their armour is weather more than most – they’ve to-date released thirteen full-length albums, with Ancient Lies And Battle Cries being lucky number 1-3. Evolving over the years, as most good bands do, Countess continue to boast a harsh but unique style of metal, that, as they put it: “[is] characterized by an uncompromising loyalty to the old Heavy Metal and Black Metal traditions.”
