Avenged Sevenfold – “This Means War” [Song Review]
Avengers rejoice! The band has officially released their third single, “This Means War,” off their sixth studio recording, Hail to the King. Considering the album debuted at number uno in the US, it comes as no surprise that this track, like the majority of the Hail to the King, is another gem.
Avengers rejoice! The band has officially released their third single, “This Means War,” off their sixth studio recording, Hail to the King. Considering the album debuted at number uno in the US, it comes as no surprise that this track, like the majority of the Hail to the King, is another gem.
Quickly becoming guitarist Synyster Gates’ favourite track, the song is riff-based, loud and features a dual-lead harmony which capitalizes on the band’s sound and stays true to A7X form. From the lyrics to the soaring solos, “This Means War” will definitely please both A7X fans and your average rocker alike.
The band enlisted Andrew Baird (Cage The Elephant) to direct the song’s video and came up with a stunning War-based visual journey (see below). Lastly, I’m dedicating this article to the person who got me into music in the first place, my brother John. This review is for you, may you rest in peace. Thanks for always reading my articles. I love you. Rock on!
