In talking with some fans last night I was unaware how popular 80s glam metal band Stryper was at one time. Of course, and as expected, the spandex is gone in favor of a more conservative and age appropriate attire.

In talking with some fans last night I was unaware how popular 80s glam metal band Stryper was at one time. Of course, and as expected, the spandex is gone in favor of a more conservative and age appropriate attire. However, that didn’t seen to hamper ageless front man Mike Sweet from doing his thing as if it were 1986. Their most popular album, To Hell with the Devil, sold millions of copies.
A long break for almost the entire 90s seemingly shot them into obscurity but loyal fans of the Christian metal band came out last night to Stage 48 to hear them play some of their more popular songs, including a guest appearance from Howard Stern’s Richard Christie, who was summoned by Sweet and found his way behind the drum kit for a tune.
