Brooklyn-based alternative rock group The Corduroy Suit is set to release their new EP, Revisions, on April 8, 2014. Honest, melodic and more rock-driven than the group’s two prior albums, the five-track EP, recorded and engineered by Roger Greenawalt (Ben Kweller, Rufus Wainwright, Albert Hammond Jr.) features John Schmergel (guitar/vocals) and Chris Asta (guitar, bass, programming) and marks the group’s debut on the alt-rock music scene.
“Left to Survive”, the first single from the new EP, features rock guitar licks and driving percussion, which bolsters Schmergel’s haunting vocals and hook-laden melody, as he sings: “Gimme a last memory / Before they come and eat us alive / I guess we weren’t the only ones / Left to survive.” The anthemic track provides listeners with an introduction to the band’s explosive instrumentation and insightful lyrics.
