HIM @ Irving Plaza (New York, NY) on March 14, 2014
HIM, the Finnish rock band from Helsinki, played to a sold out crowd last night at Irving Plaza. Now, I’m not a big fan of HIM, nor did I know the band who opened for them – a prog-rock band from Livepool, England called Anathema. Maybe cause I was feeling a bit under the weather, but both bands seemed to have fallen short on what my expectations were judging from this type of music. HIM did dive into 16 songs in over an hour and twenty min set hitting the stage at about 9:10pm. Lead Ville Valo did his best to resemble AC/DC front man Brian Johnson. I guess that was not too bad considering it could have been worse… he could have resembled Bon Scott.
