Founded in Athens, Georgia by multi-instrumentalist Tim Rowland (Sholfrost, ex-Peregrine), Woccon released their first EP titled Through Ancestral Fires in the Summer of 2011 which featured guest vocals by Ryan Morgan of Misery Signals. In March 2012 the band signed with Deathbound Records and released their follow up EP The Wither Fields. The Wither Fields helped Woccon garner a lot of attention and accolades from publications such as Decibel Magazine (who gave the album 8 out of 10), No Clean Singing (“Our Ashes” featured in their “2013’S MOST INFECTIOUS EXTREME METAL SONGS”), Metalsucks, BW&BK, Midwinter Fires (9 out of 10) and more.
