Hailing from the West Midlands in the UK, Winter Storm is a dark melodic, female-fronted metal band which formed in 2008 with a vision to create a group that would be heavy and atmospheric, but still maintain the traits of a gothic metal sound along with a melodic metal edge. In the last five years, the Winter Storm has had the chance to play with some top names in metal, including Alestorm, Delain, Sirenia, The Birthday Massacre, Theatres Des Vampires, Sarah Jezebel Deva, Die So Fluid, ReVamp, Lahannya, Achilla, Triaxis, Evil Scarecrow, Idiom and Voodoo Johnson.

In 2013 Winter Storm released their sophomore record entitled Within The Frozen Design. The album marks a turn towards a darker, heavier sound which the members have been striving towards for years now. Recording, producing and mixing of the record was taken care of at Arkham Studios in Birmingham by Alex Cooper (Ginger Wildheart, Hanging Doll). The online community has really embraced Within the Frozen Design as reviews have been overwhelmingly positive.
