I must admit that when I heard the name Hemoptysis (which I discover, after a quick visit to Google, means coughing up blood), I expected a bit of an old school, Cannibal Corpse-inspired death metal. Instead, I find myself listening to a bit of razor sharp old school, traditional thrash.

Re-recorded from their 2008 EP, Who Needs A Shepherd?, “Traitor” is a pit-smashing blast of thrash metal just like it used to be. None of this “retro-thrash” nonsense, “Traitor” is the sound of group of old-school thrashers showing they can shred with the best of them.

A taster for their forthcoming new release, while “Traitor” may have got nothing more than a bit of a clean up in the studio, you can bet your bottom dollar that, if this is an indication of how their new material will sound, there will be a lot more blood being lost in pits around the country.

Run Time: 4:20
Release Date: February 10, 2014

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
