Like Pantera and Lamb of God? Is Roots one of your all time favourite albums? Do your knees go weak at the thought of a co-headlining tour with Killswitch Engage and As I Lay Dying? Great, let me introduce you to Noway’s The Hate Colony.

The Hate Colony’s debut album Dead or Victorious is one of those albums that mainstream metal fans will love. This has everything that the fans of that genre will totally eat up: Screamed vocals, a polished modern production, breakdowns, and pseudo death metal growls that sound just dangerous enough to scare your parents.

If you get the sense that I don’t like The Hate Colony, you would be right. This type of music just doesn’t do it for me – the Anselmo-esque posturing, the “bro” band pic really just make me want to bash my head against the wall until I pass out.

But, if you like this type of stuff, you’ll really like it as the band are actually quite good at what they do. Unfortunately, I’m not their target audience. If you like Lamb of God definitely add a couple of points to the score I gave this album. Me, I’ll pass.
