Front Porch Step, the indie acoustic solo project of singer/songwriter Jake Mcelfresh, has released his first single “Run Away” from his upcoming debut full-length, Aware, on YouTube. Jake Mcelfresh, also known as Front Porch Step, holds the great ability to blend in with all different genres of music such as acoustic, pop punk, and hardcore. Featured in Alternative Press, Jake was compared to similar acts like Tim Barry, Jeff Rowe, and Koji. Others have compared his lyrical style to the likes of Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes), Jessey Lacey (Brand New) and Chris Conley (Saves The Day). Front Porch Step is well known by fans for his raw lyrics and courage to write exactly how he feels. Because of this, people all over the world have connected with his music.
“Seven years ago when I started writing music, I never dreamed that I would have gone anywhere. It’s the most cliché thing to say, but writing lyrics and singing them is my true passion in life,” says Mcelfresh.
