The Skinny: The Things They Carried recently premiere a brand new song online! Titled “More Than Love,” the track finds the Long Island quartet evolving from its initial metal-core influences towards aggression with more emotional, orchestral and melodic elements packed in. This evolution of style can be heard throughout the group’s new EP, Jamais Vu, available on July 16th. Stream “More Than Love” just above!

Regarding the meaning behind “More Than Love,” Steve Schwartz (vocals/guitars) shared the following with Revolver [Magazine]: “I wrote the song about an obsessive girl who leeches on to people and buys their love. The song talks about a specific relationship that I was aware of, and it made me sick to watch. The song then twists around and ends on a rather positive note, stating that there’s someone out there for all of us, no matter who you are.”
