Stand Your Ground – “Standards” [EP]
Standards is the newest release from the Tennessee-based metallic hardcore band, Stand Your Ground. This EP may be short, but don’t let that deter you from picking it up as it sure packs a mighty punch! The pummeling immediately begins with opener “Contradictions”, a tune that slaps the listener upside the head forcing them to take notice. Not waning at all after the initial burst, the remaining four tunes nicely continue the same unrelenting assault.

The disc as a whole is really good, but for me easily the best song is the unbelievably-explosively and aggressive tune, “Pros and Cons.” This is good stuff folks, the real deal; powerful vocals, super down-tuned guitars, and lots of great breakdowns. I highly recommend checking out Standards, it will kick you in the ass and leave you wanting for more!
