Massachusetts extreme metal band Carnivora are flying high off the recent release of their debut album, Eternal. That they have just released a whole record of original material may not have always seemed like a likely possibility for these five young men from the East coast. Why? Well they formed in late 2010 to play a battle of the bands at The Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts. The gig subsequently helped the members realize that they held a collective passion for writing and performing music. Success came relatively quickly as the following year Carnivora found themselves playing with national acts such as Unearth, Fear Factory, Six Feet Under, and Job For A Cowboy.
Following on this momentum, Carnivora started writing and recording and by 2012 they had put out their first single “Human Decimator.” A collectively positive response created some hype around the band which helped facilitate the recording of a full-length album. Recording began to take place in early 2013 and now with the release of their debut record Eternal, Carnivora is aggressively touring around the New England area. Carnivora will appear at the New Hampshire date of Gigantour 2013 in July, and the Boston date of Chimaira’s Summer headlining tour in August.
