Sanktuary – “Heat Lightning” [Song Stream] [Exclusive World Premiere]
Check out this free download of “Heat Lightning” from emerging Canadian metal band Sanktuary. The band comes from Whitehorse, Yukon, one of the two territories in Canada and not necessarily a hotbed of growing metal acts. You could say that the members of Sanktuary were born for rock n’ roll, travelling from Yukon to Nova Scotia and loving every minute of it. The four-piece band grew from high school friendships that turned musical and went beyond just jamming in your parents’ basement. They got things started with back to back EPs, first their self-released debut in 2009 followed by Black Magic Brew in 2010.
The Skinny: Check out this exclusive world premiere stream of the new song “Heat Lightning” from emerging Canadian metal band Sanktuary. The group comes from Whitehorse, Yukon, one of the three federal territories in Canada and not necessarily a hotbed of growing metal acts.
Soon after the releases of the EPs, Sanktuary uprooted and went all the way to Halifax, Nova Scotia to relocate. They followed up their relocation with a cross-country tour and an unfortunate event while in Toronto when their van and nearly all of their gear was stolen. The members pulled together after this significant blow and recorded their third EP Tundrastruck in 2011 along with signing a record deal with Spread the Metal Records in 2012. After signing their deal, Sanktuary went all the way back to Whitehorse to record their soon to be released debut full-length Something Fierce out this Summer 2013.
