One Minute Silence – “Fragmented Armageddon” [EP]

After a ten year hiatus, the legendary UK rap metal act One Minute Silence is back with a new album. The new EP, entitled Fragmented Armageddon, includes three new tunes, two remixes, and an acoustic track. As I was not familiar with One Minute Silence before receiving this release, nor have I ever really been a fan of rap metal, I went into this EP cautiously to say the least.

After a ten year hiatus, the legendary UK rap metal act One Minute Silence is back with a new album. As I was not familiar with One Minute Silence before receiving this release, nor have I ever really been a fan of rap metal, I went into this EP cautiously to say the least.

With that being said though, this is a pretty good record; the three original tunes work off of some pretty cool, heavy riffs that are accented by the unique and smooth vocal delivery of Yap. It is pretty much what you would expect from this type of music, but it’s done really well.

For me, the disc’s standout is without a doubt “Fruit From The Lie (Ben Hurd Remix).” This tune not only mixes rap and metal, but adds a bit of dub step and electronica to the mix making for a quite interesting tune; it hits hard forcing you to take notice. At the end of the day this is a solid EP and has peaked my interest enough that I’m going to go back and acquaint myself with the band’s previous body of work.
