American Head Charge – “Shoot” [EP]

Wow! I had no idea that American Head Charge were back in the saddle. Shoot, though an EP, is their first release since 2005’s Loyalty and it felt really good to pop this on. Much like revisiting an old friend, with Shoot I was able to pick right back up where we left of and dig right in as if there were no absence at all.

“Writhe” kicks things off and is a pretty cool opener, but I think the disc really gets cranking with, “Set Yourself On Fire,” and from there only gets better. Loaded to the gills with industrial-tinged heavy rock grooves, this is a record designed to get you moving!

Shoot is heavy, dancy, and super groovy and unlike most anything else in the scene at the moment. Give “Sugars Of Someday” a spin and see if you can remain still… I dare say it is not possible. You won’t regret checking this one out. Welcome back guys!
