“Deafish” is the latest song from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania hardcore band 20 Days In, available here as a free download. As the hardcore scene in Philadelphia became increasingly stagnant, the members of 20 Days In got together to form in June 2010 in an effort to bring together a wide range of influences. The band has tried to meld these influences toward a new, unique and accessible sound. The results are a sound that is refreshingly diverse, yet at the same time comfortably familiar in its combination of post-hardcore, indie and alternative rock elements.

20 Days In released their debut EP last September called Align: Explode. The album calls to mind the many positive qualities of bands such as The Mars Volta, Circa Survive, Tool, Dance Gavin Dance, and Avenged Sevenfold. Their talents have been already recognized enough that they have played with the likes of Silverstein, HRVRD, and Conditions. With such a wide range of techniques and influences that the members of 20 Days In draw from, it is quite hard to say how the band will sound next. One thing is for certain though; you can always expect to hear something fresh and original.
