Kinetik – “Closer Than Contact” [Song Review]

“Closer Than Contact” is the latest single from the San Francisco based technical groove metal band Kinetic. Released ahead of the upcoming full-length album, Heavier Elements, this song is an awesome preview of what’s to come.

Man was I caught by surprise on this one; not only is the playing terrific (as you might expect from a tech-metal band), but there is also a whole groove-infused, percussive thing going on, (think Meshuggah), that really sucks you in. “Closer Than Contact” absolutely stands on its own though and is a great metal offering. I can’t wait to hear the rest of album when it drops on March 5th.
