Formed in 2010 from the ashes of Telegraphs, Chaos Days and Epitaph Records’ This City, Brighton quintet Eager Teeth quickly uncovered a unique musical chemistry, borne from a collective musical nostalgia for the punk, post-hardcore and alt-indie of yesteryear. Armed with years of combined experience on tour and in the rehearsal room, the quintet wasted no time in assembling an arsenal of songs and hitting the road. And after just a handful of shows, their esoteric take on anthemic, punk laced alt-rock, along with the off-kilter video for debut single “Lights Out”, had gained them a groundswell buzz and the considerable affections of A Wolf At Your Door Records (Mallory Knox, Deaf Havana, Lower Than Atlantis).

With WAYD in their corner, Eager Teeth spent Summer 2012 tucked away with rising producer pair Thomas Mitchener and Steve Sears (Gallows, Spycatcher) tracking their dynamic self-titled debut album. Inspired by their record collections, which barely push past the early noughties, and the simple, no frills desire to make music that they love, Eager Teeth created a debut that is both the sum of its collective influence, and an honest expression of five musical imaginations. Eager Teeth feels familiar but not derivative, like an album you’ve known and loved for a long time.

Lyrically, Eager Teeth muses on poet William Blake’s 18th Century work ‘The Marriage Of Heaven & Hell’, vocalist Will Blood exploring and interpreting the grandiose themes of Blake’s text through his own eyes against his band’s warm and kinetic musical backdrop. To mark the beginning of this exciting first chapter in the Eager Teeth story, and to whet appetites for the musical splendours in store, album track “Exorcise Bike” has been made available for free download, with the album release to follow on March 18th.
