The Skinny: Grey Kingdom, the solo project of former Attack in Black guitarist Spencer Burton, is set to release Light, I’ll Call Your Name Out “Darkness” on October 2nd, 2012 on Dine Alone Records. Grey Kingdom will be performing at the Molson Amphitheatre with City and Colour on September 12th. Advance copies of this new CD available for purchase at the show prior to the official release date.
This will be Burton’s second full-length record since adopting the moniker Grey Kingdom in 2010. Since his debut, he has released a series of four digital 7″ and two EPs, including The Weeping Suns (March, 2012); recorded with multi-JUNO award winning City and Colour; and toured as a supporting member of the band for the Platinum selling release Bring Me Your Love.
Grey Kingdom beautifully showcases Burton’s talents as a musician, singer and songwriter. His lyrics resonate as a sincere, personal testimony. His folk-inspired melodies and stripped down acoustic approach are enhanced by the addition of strings, steel guitar and haunting harmonies – the perfect backdrop to his touching tales of love, and love lost.
