Titan’s Eve – “Life Apocalypse”

I think it’s quite an undertaking and accomplishment to be able to release two quality albums within a short time period, but that’s exactly what Titan’s Eve have done with Life Apocalypse, the follow up to the band’s 2011 effort, The Divine Equal.

I think it’s quite an undertaking and accomplishment to be able to release two quality albums within a short time period, but that’s exactly what Titan’s Eve have done with Life Apocalypse, the follow up to the band’s 2011 effort, The Divine Equal.

The new release is a concept album of sorts as it centers around the theme of overcoming challenges faced in life. After a brief acoustic intro, Life Apocalypse really gets fired up and under way with “Destined to Die”, a real thrashing, head banging song that sets the pace for the rest of the disc. The combination of old school metal influences with more current metal sensibilities is just aurally stunning. These guys have created an album that kicks some serious ass from start to finish; I was fully engrossed in it from the beginning.

While I was already a fan of the band’s first disc, I can honestly say that Life Apocalypse is a more mature-sounding record on all levels; they have more presence, more confidence and vocalist Brian Gamblin has stepped things up turning in a fantastic, commanding performance. Simply stated, I really dig this disc. I think it is a great offering and one that metal fans of all ages are sure to enjoy.
