N.N.: Exclusive Eastern Canadian “Princes Tour” Journal with Drummer “Tones” – #4 Ottawa

Ottawa: After all the driving we had done the last few days it was a relief we only had a 4 hour drive to Ottawa. We got to Ottawa around 6pm and quickly found a hotel near the venue. We had enough time to find a chip wagon and make a quick stop at the LCBO to pick up some drinks. After a few drinks we headed to the venue.

Ottawa: After all the driving we had done the last few days it was a relief we only had a 4 hour drive to Ottawa. We got to Ottawa around 6pm and quickly found a hotel near the venue. Tonight we played the Avant Garde which is a Russian cafe/bar/gift store. I had set up the show with the owner Alex who is really nice guy but hard to understand sometimes. In our conversation it was lost that this venue did not have a PA system. Panic sets in as it’s now 9pm and the show was supposed to start at 10pm. All the stores that would have what we needed were closed. All three bands got on the phone to find a solution. Much respect to the two bands we played with FindersKeepers and Swollen Eyes. Both excellent bands and great dudes and dudette.

We were able to find mics and play vocals through a bass amp. All bands sounded extra garagy which I thought sounded badass. After the show we headed over to Parliament Hill since we wouldn’t have time in the morning. We got some pictures and almost ended up at a salsa party going on across the street. Headed back to hotel… Montreal awaits.
