The Skinny: Modernboys Moderngirls have just released their new album Let’s Do It!. Said the band of the release: “Damn excited to finally get it out and share it with everyone. We’ll be able to tell you very soon about new shows, videos, and more recordings that are already in the pipeline. This is just the beginning. A big smooch and a hug to everyone who’s been in our corner, listening, coming to shows, and buying our records (wink).”

Here are some words from the band’s producer, Rosa Melpalo: “‘Let’s Do It!’, the new album from Modernboys Moderngirls is from first song to last, a careening, passionate embrace of rock ‘n roll. The first single, ‘How Am I Gonna Get It?’, kicks off the record with voices of feeding back guitars tuning like an ugly symphony until it gives way to an endlessly catchy 2 minutes and 45 seconds of what great rock ‘n roll has always been. A repetitively enjoyable slap in the face. Repeat: ‘Hot Blaze of Happiness’, ‘All I Want to Believe In’, ‘Last Song the Jukebox Played’. We didn’t have to spend time finding the hooks on any of these. Darker songs like ‘Black Ocean Walk’, ‘Olive Hearts’ and ‘The Devils We Know’ grab you by the collar and lean into you with hyper-charged ferocity while others like ‘Good Dancing, Hard Times’ swing effortlessly in a sexy garage blues.”
